‘Staying in’ is a collaborative music video made by 50 people from 17 different countries of 4 continents. Both song and video were entirely produced in lockdown during the COVID-19 pandemic.
The lyrics, guitar and vocals of the song were written and performed by Mel Brennan. Ignacio Sabadell and Aaron Feder created the bass and steel pedal guitar lines, and I wrote and performed piano and percussion arrangements.
We all recorded the different parts from home, and I pre-mixed them. Finally, Aaron (Slow Sound Studio) mixed and mastered it.
People from around the globe sent us short home-made videos showing what they usually do while being at home. I put all the footage together and created the video.
