We could say Oceans Rising is a song about climate change, or about massive consumerism. But above all, it’s a story about a personal transformation. It depicts the metamorphosis from a life of comfort and ignorance, to one of responsibility and awareness about our impact on the planet we live in.
The song was written by Mel Brennan, and arranged & produced by me. I also pre-mixed the song for Jason Boshoff, who mixed and mastered it. Mel and I wrote the story, I directed the video in collaboration with Louis Bergemann & Daniel Enright, and I edited and coloured it.
Oceans Rising has been an intense creative and technical challenge, that took several years from start to completion, and is totally different from anything we have done before.
